This project aims to enhance food security and improve rural livelihoods in the Damascus countryside (Western and Eastern Ghouta) by supporting the production and processing of dairy derivatives, including yogurt, cheese, butter, cream, and other essential nutritional products. It focuses on empowering rural families, small-scale farmers, and women-headed households through the establishment of small-scale production units that rely on locally sourced fresh milk and operate under sustainable health and economic standards. The program provides hands-on training in dairy processing, quality assurance, and local market development, helping to create new job opportunities and increase the added value of agricultural output. By integrating modern techniques with supportive components such as organic manure sales and calf production, the project revitalizes the local livestock sector and addresses the decline in domestic dairy processing. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering long-term economic resilience and improving nutritional outcomes in rural communities.
